I skipped my March Oatbox so I could catch up and finish my granola from previous months. The skip process was very simple and can be done online. I was very excited to receive my April’s box, especially during my final exam season when grocery shopping can be more challenging. The two April granola blends were Apricot, Black Tea & Maple granola and Maple & Walnut granola.
OatBox sends out two 380g bags of granola in their two monthly featured flavours each month. It costs $20 a month, including taxes and shipping. You can preview the flavours and ingredients and have the option to swap out a bag with one of their regular granola blends. They also offer some certified gluten-free granola blends. Oatbox provides flexibility by allowing you to skip boxes if you don’t need more granola. In your first box you get a cute little glass container to take your granola on the go with you! Apricot, Black Tea & Maple Granola
This granola tasted like summer and was very refreshing on a cold, rainy Vancouver day. I think this would be a great granola on a smoothie bowl. The apricot flavour wasn’t overpowering which I appreciated. I love that Oatbox provides recipes to go along with their monthly blends. The recipe accompanying this granola was for Apricot Scones.
Maple & Walnut Granola
The Maple & Walnut blend is a classic granola and I wish I had more than one bag. I enjoyed this granola on plain yogurt and it was the perfect amount of flavour and crunch. The accompanying recipe is for Walnut Bread!
May’s first blend is the Superfoods Granola which features quinoa flakes, goji berries and chia seeds. The second blend is Strawberry and Turmeric Granola. Both of these blends sound delicious and I can’t wait to try them!
